There are two (2) options to powering the Easi-PLUS and Active-PLUS Systems.
Firstly the Active-PLUS and Easi-PLUS systems can be powered either by a standard 9-volt battery, or a bikes 12volt system.
The Super-Pro can ONLY be powered by a bikes 12volt system.
It is important to note however that good quality batteries are expensive, and that in certain circumstances, like if you are continuously listening to music, they will wear out faster. The best option therefore to powering the main units, is via your bike's battery system.
The Easi-PLUS unit comes with a standard 9volt battery connector ONLY.
It can also be wired to your bike's electrical system by using the optional 12volt Power Lead (code: 1533). Using this optional lead allows the Easi-PLUS to easily connect to your bike's 12volt system, and saves the need to constantly replace batteries.
The Active-PLUS comes with both a 9volt battery connector and standard 12-volt power lead (code: 1536) which connects to your bikes electrical system.
Please refer to the Manual/Download section for more details on this.
The SUPER-Pro unit is designed to be powered from the Bike's 12volt system only.
The unit comes with a twin core cable, with one cable for "Earthing" on the bike's frame or preferably direct to the battery, while the other cable is for powering to the bike's Positive circuit. Please refer to the Manual/Download section to view the actual Instruction manual for the SUPER-Pro.
A further option for powering the SUPER-Pro (and Active-PLUS) is the Detachable Power Leads (codes: 1537/1538). If you need to remove the SUPER-Pro from your bike after each ride, these two leads allow you easily disconnect the unit.
For those who want to connect the Autocom Units themselves, and don't necessarily have a garage full of cable ties and terminal connectors, the "Universal Bike Fitting Kit" can help. This kit (code: 1528) contains all the necessary components and fittings required, and comes standard with the SUPER-Pro and Active-PLUS Kits.
Please note that this Kit does not include a multi-meter or soldering iron, which may be required in some circumstances.
If you are not confident with 12volt power please consult a qualified Automotive Electrician.
Please also refer to the Autocom Powering Options page for further information on Power Leads.
